Janna Sattler was chosen Legionnette of the Year for the Avon Chapter.

The Pirates dropped a close one to Armour.

The5-6thgradegirlsended their basketball season with a 9-1 record. They won the YMCA tourney in Mitchell beating Mt. Vernon 21-20 in the championship game. Leading scorers were Melissa Roth,DaniDuermier,Jenny JacobsandBrendaNamminga. Coaches were Jarvis Winckler and Dave Eggers.

Winners from Avon in the KC Hoop Shoot were: age 12SteveRatzlaff,Age13-Jennifer Winckler, and Age 14- Christy Tjeerdsma.

A general meeting for the area on School Reorganization will be held on Feb. 29th.

The Pirates lost 2 games this week to Tripp 41-66 and to Tyndall 38-47. District play starts Tuesday.
