Stan enjoyed watching the activities of his kids and grandkids. He enjoyed racing stock cars and raced in the 1970’s and again in the early 90’s after his son Jake encouraged him to race again. Jake went on to race Sprint Cars and Stan and Rose enjoyed traveling throughout the midwest along with the family for many years, until Jake retired from racing and came back to farm with Stan. He will be remembered mostly by his family and friends for his love of spending time Walleye fishing. Friends knew if you went fishing with Stan, you better be prepared to stay all day if the fishing was slow. He liked to say “thats why they call it fishing, not catching”. He loved the peacefulness of a day on the river. Stan loved hosting fish fries for friends and family and also had many good times singing Karaoke.
