RUTH TAYLOR

Armour - Ruth Taylor, 91, died at her home in Armour on Thursday, August 19, 2021. There will be a private family service at a later date. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Ruth Taylor was born on August 19, 1930 to Frank and Nellie (Reed) DeGeest in Douglas County. She graduated from Armour High School and received her teaching certificate from Southern State College in Springfield, She taught country school for a short time. She married Melvin "Bud" Taylor on February 5, 1949 in Armour. Ruth worked at the dress shop, the mink farm and Morrow Produce. She retired after working over 30 years in the Armour drug store. She was a member of United Church of Christ, Eastern Star, and VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, cooking, but most of all spending time with her family.

She is survived by her three daughters, Linda (Dallas) Preheim of Lake Andes, Vicki Newberry of Kingfisher, OK, and Jill (Todd) Kjellsen of Armour, brother, Vern DeGeest of Corsica, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son-in-law, Brice Newberry, three brothers, Dale, Roy and Dennis DeGeest, and sister, Mary Califf.
