MAKING FESTIVAL IN THE PARK YOUR LABOR DAY WEEKEND DESTINATION

Posted in:

The Labor Day weekend is quickly approaching and plans are being made on where and when to attend all of the different things available at the Wagner Labor Day celebration in Wagner. Although the celebration is full of activities, a new destination has been created. Something that has something for just about everyone.

When deciding your destination plans, consider The Festival In The Park. We have added ten completely different kinds of entertainment acts to enjoy while you relax, eat or shop. The musicians, entertainers and programs will be bringing music, talent, variety, education, a chance to honor veterans and culture all to the park.

The Festival has taken into account all the different kinds of interests people have and are trying to provide something entertaining and of value to just about every taste. If you like country music, a variety of music, Native dance, gospel music, cultural based German music, checking out military vehicles or race cars, honoring veterans, eating free water melon or talking hunting and fishing, we have it all covered at The Festival In The Park.

Setting this as your destination will provide you with a wide variety of programing that includes: Jim Bridge singing a variety of country music, recording artist Vince Two Eagles, Perry Little Dance Group performing and explaining Native dance and dress, singer and song writer Kobe Provost, 3 Sharps and A Flat performing traditional folk music, Heavens Hitch Hikers singing gospel music, the country music of Uncle Roy, the talent of the South Dakota Country Music Hall Fame members entertaining directly after their performance at the S.D. State Fair, The Lake View Colony sharing their unique German gospel music as well as Phill and Friends and their big band style of music. In addition the South Dakota National Guard will have military vehicles available for youth to check out and Wagner Speedway race cars and drivers who will talk about the joy of racing. For those who enjoy talking about hunting and fishing take time to visit with Roger Wiltz, author of Rod’s Nimrod, as well as taking time to honor our veterans with a free water melon feed to follow.

This variety of programing is only possible with the support of our sponsors: Fort Randall Casino, Commercial State Bank, Wagner V.F.W. & American Legion, Yankton Sioux Tribe, Fort Randall Credit Union, Buche Foods, TNT Enterprises Inc., First Dakota National Bank of Wagner, The Turtle Society and Kelly Hosek, financial advisor/ Raymond James. All of who are working in partnership with Wagner Area Horizons. All of thistakesplaceatFestivalInThe Park. You will find it difficult to find this much to do in one location anywhere in the area. Come and enjoy the event, along with the shopping at the arts and craft fair and the great food provided by the food venders. Check out the Wagner Announcer the week before Labor Day for details of the times of the different performances. Better yet, make the Festival In The Park your key Labor Day destination and don’t miss a thing.
