Private funeral mass for Larry Carda, 70, of Wagner was held Saturday, July 25 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Wagner. Burial was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, rural Wagner. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Larry Carda was born November 5, 1949 in Wagner, the son of Frank and Thelma (Smith) Carda. He died Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at his home in Wagner.

Larry graduated from Wagner High School in 1968. He worked as a brick layer for many years. He served as a volunteer fireman for the Wagner Fire Department for 20 years and also served as an EMT.

Larry was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and was a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus.

Larry was known for being a very friendly person. There was not a person he met who was a stranger. He loved children. Larry will be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing.

Thankful for having shared his life are his two children Ann (Dave) Olps of Sugar Hill, GA and Larry Carda of Sioux Falls; grandchildren Ryan and Briana Olps of Sugar Hill, GA; four brothers and sisters: Donna (Walt) Ishmael of Wagner, Gary (Pam) Carda of Wagner, Dave (Nancy) Carda of Oaks, ND and Brenda Hrdlicka of Yankton; and many nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
