ISAAC PRIMEAUX, JR.

Wake services for Isaac “Ike” Primeaux, Jr., 54, of Wagner were at the YST Community Center in Wagner. Funeral services were at the Community Center Monday, September 21. Burial was in the Presbyterian Cemetery, rural Greenwood. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Isaac Primeaux Jr., “Brother Bear”, was born June 8, 1966 in Wagner to Isaac Primeaux, Sr. and Sharon Provincial. He journeyed home on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at his home in Wagner.

Ike grew up in Greenwood. He attended Wagner Community School for the first seven years of school. He then went to Marty Indian School for the first half of his eighth grade year and then attended Pierre Indian Learning Center, where he was recognized by the governor for his art murals that were drew on the hallways there. He received his eighth grade diploma from there in 1982.

Ike then went on to high school at Flandreau Indian School where he also did a mural on the hallway wall. He loved to play softball and chess, he went on to graduate in 1986 from there.

He was a dedicated worker and father. He was a good friend to everyone he met and always had a smile on his face.

He leaves behind three children: Bryan Joseph, Nathan Joseph and Sarah Joseph; wife Michelle (Huapapi) Primeaux; seven younger siblings: Dawn Primeaux, George Hare, Jonathan Raymond, Charles Drappeaux, Tierra McBride, Nelson McBride, Cole Kazena; and two step sisters: Whitney McBride and Calene McBride; and step brother Jordan McBride.
