Barbara Ash, 78, of Wagner, died Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Armour Care and Rehabilitation Center in Armour. Funeral services were Friday, July 27 at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church in Wagner. Burial will take place at a later date. Crosby-Jaeger Funeral Home in Wagner is in charge of arrangements. Barbara Ash was born August 30, 1939 the daughter of John and Birdie (Ellston) McBride at the Indian Health Service in Wagner. She started her journey on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Armour Care and Rehabilitation Center in Armour. She attained the age of 78 years. Barb was a member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe. Barb attended country school in Herrick and graduated from St. Mary’s School for Girls in Springfield. Barb worked at Wagner Good Samaritan Center form many years as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She later went on to work at Indian Health Service until she retired in August of 2000. Barb loved to work in her flower beds, taking care of her indoor plants, listening and dancing to polka music and coloring. I still say she can make a dead plant comeback to life.
