Funeral services for Adrienne (Blackmoon) Whitefeather, 35, of Vermillion were Saturday, June 27 at the Michelle (Black-moon) Aungie residence in Wagner. Burial was in the family cemetery, Annie’s Lilly. Peters Funeral Home in Wagner was in charge of arrangements.

Adrienne Anne (Blackmoon) Whitefeather, “Iciyanpa Win”, was born May 19, 1985 in Yankton. She died Tuesday, June 22, 2020 at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton.

Adrienne attended elementary through middle school in Wagner. She attended high school at Marty Indian School were she graduated in 2003.

Adrienne loved spending time with family and friends. She also loved fancy shawl dancing and she was so good at it, she took many championships and was honored as royalty.

On November 19, 2004 she was blessed with her first child, her son Avohnt Prince. It was soon after his birth her and companion Andrew decided it would benefit their lives as well as their sons life if she enlisted in the Army Reserves. She was stationed and completed her basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri.

On May 12, 2012 Adrienne entered into marriage with Andrew Whitefeather. They shared a total of 14 beautiful years together and have four beautiful children together. Avohnt Prince 15, Alec Payton 11, Amarra Evelyn ten and Avaya Rose ten months old.

Adrienne was a devoted mother. She always made sure everything revolved around them and their happiness. She had the biggest heart and was always willing to help anyone in need, family or not. She also had a great sense of humor, she loved to laugh and joke. She will be remembered for all the goofy nicknames she gave family and friends.

Adrienne was preceded in death by her grandma Evelyn and her aunt Carol, her grandpa Steve Red Buffalo and grandma Joyce Andrews; her uncle Stacy Red Buffalo and aunt Stephanie Red Buffalo.

She leaves to mourn her husband Andrew, their children: Avohnt, Alec, Amarra and Avaya; her parents Anthony and Michelle (Blackmoon) Aungie and Bryan Red Buffalo; in-laws Spence and Tracy Mercer; grandmother Pamela Red Buffalo; her aunt Julie (Blackmoon) and uncle Everdell Wright; her uncles James Blackmoon and Duane Stokke; her siblings Julian (Allison), Damien and Nolan; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
