The Lady Red Raiders traveled to Sioux Falls on Saturday, September 27th to compete in the Sanford Pentagon Tournament. The Lady Raiders went 2-2 in the tournament and finished 5th in the white division. They first faced Parker/Marion and fell short with scores of 17-25, 25-19, and 18-25. Next they defeated Hitchcock/Tulare with scores of 25-16, 11-25, and 25-23. In the first round of bracket play they lost to Winner 22-25 and 13-25. Then in the last match of the day they defeated Mount Vernon/Plankinton 25-18, 25-27, and 25-17.

Our football Pirate of the Week is Easton Sees, a sophomore here at AHS, and the quarterback of our team. He has a couple of achievable goals in mind for the season. One is for the team to play to the best of their abilities, and his other goal is “Winning the State Championship.”

With a positive attitude and big goals, Tucker shared whatkeepshimmotivatedin this demanding, yet rewarding sport. 'Cross country is a lot of running, but it's very fun,' Tucker said with a smile.
