Wagner’s 14U Teeners participated in Winner’s tournament this past weekend, June 19-20, which took place in both Winner and Colome. Wagner’s first contest of the tournament was a noontime first pitch versus Gregory in the Cowboy country of Colome. Carter Cournoyer would get the nod on the mound for Wagner and that turned out to be a good choice as he turned in a stellar performance leading Wagner to a 9-1 victory. He went the distance (6 innings in this tournament) giving up one earned run on just two hits and a walk while notching 11 Ks. He had Gregory batters baffled for much of the game as only two batters reached in the first five innings. He did give up a double and a single in the sixth but managed to pick off the runner at first base before the Gorillas could mount any serious threat.
