Feeding South Dakota food distribution will be held Wednesday, December 30 at the Scotland Community Church at 8:45 a.m.; the Tyndall Fire Hall at 10:30 a.m. and at the Avon Fire Hall at 12 noon. The date has changed this month due to the Christmas holiday.

Reese Powers and Makayla Kopp received a “Superior” rating and gold meal for their duet “Science: No Boys Allowed.” Sarah Swier received a “Superior” rating and gold medal for her Storytelling piece “Katie and Her Best Friend.” Reece Loewe also competed with the serious prose piece “Magic Shoes.” The highest award an individual at the State Festival can receive is a “Superior” rating and gold medal.
