Read moreThe Avon Public Library ended their Summer Reading Program, Tails and Tales, with an interactive movie night on Monday, August 2. Participants met in the park and were given props and scripts to interact with the movie, Finding Nemo. About 65 children and adults were in attendance. Snacks and drinks were also given out. There was a lot of feedback on this being an enjoyable time, and Mayor Petrik inquired about doing this again with another movie in the winter possibly in the fire hall.

Read moreThe 2021 Charles Mix 4-H Achievement Days preparations are well on their way. The 4-H families worked really hard last week to spruce up the 4-H Center and Grounds. From scrubbing the floors to mowing the lawn, these families took pride in preparing to celebrate with you their achievements this year. Pens were also set up to hold and show the animals being exhibited this year. The Charles Mix 4-H families cordially invite you to come see the exhibits, partake in the free will offering pork loin BBQ Friday, August 6th at 5:30. Parade of Champions/Style Show to follow at 6:30. The night would not be complete without AgOlympics. The club members are excited with anticipation of the following AgOlympics: Speed Milking, Holey Bucket Race, Trike Race, and Chicken Herding. The finale to Ag-Olympics will be Pie-in-the-Face where the winners get to throw whip cream pies at the 4-H Youth Program Advisor’s face. Additional tickets will be sold for those that wish to take in on the fun.
