The New Year will be bringing back the Lake Andes Library Book Club. We stopped meeting when the COVID pandemic made it unsafe to meet. Plans right now are to start meeting in January 2022 to discuss the first selection. If you are interested, please contact the library for more information. The Book Club uses book club selections from Libraries across the state of South Dakota, so the only cost is for postage to return the books.

Andes Central FFA participated in the District IV Leadership Development Contest on November 15th at Mitchell Technical College. These students participated in Employment Skills, Prepared Public Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, Creed Speaking, and Ag Broadcasting. District IV officer interviews were held for the 2021-22 officer team. A huge shout out to Riata Bultje who was selected as the District IV Secretary! She was one of 21 FFA members from 11 schools competing for 6 positions. Great job representing Andes Central School!

The November 10th Rotary meeting was held at their clubhouse on Main Street Wagner at noon. There were several guests in attendance. Glen and Karen Schneider of Pickstown were guests of Kathe and Jerry Henke and Frank Kloucek was the guest of Gerrit Juffer. Sharon and Carter Weise of Armour, SD, were guests of the Henke’s also and were Kathe’s program after lunch.
