Northeast rural Lake Andes is home to a unique landscape that is a mixture of grasslands and wetlands. This picturesque setting is home to the Lake Andes National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is comprised of 5,639 acres of refuge land and 4,700 acres of lake. It was first created when President Franklin Roosevelt signed a Presidential Executive Order in 1936 which allowed for the purchase of the first 365 acres of land in the Owen’s Bay Area.

Debbie invited the library, police department and city staff to all come and have lunch as a way to show appreciation to all of the deserving city employees. Debbie was also very creative and wrote a little something to acknowledge each employee.

Wagner Area Growth is sponsoring “Wagner Craft Crawl and More” on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. A craft crawl is similar to a citywide rummage sale but features crafts, food, and other items. Vendors set up in garages, in yards, on porches, in pop-up shops inside various retail businesses, or wherever works. Customers travel to whichever locations interest them.
