The Dante City Council presented the Ernie Kocer Family with a plaque honoring Ernie Kocer for his dedicated years to the City of Dante. He was a City Trustee for 46 years. Along with his Trustee duties, Ernie & Theresa did numerous hours of volunteer work for Dante. Read moreAvon Public Library held the 3rd session of their Summer Reading Program on July 11th. Thirty-nine children were in attendance. Our guest reader was Sara Hammel from Novato, California. The kids enjoyed the read-aloud, made jellyfish crafts and had jellyfish snacks. Our next session will be July 25th at 12:30pm. Remember to be working on our A-Z author challenge. Special thanks goes out to Walter’s Construction, Carol Sweir, and Ron’s Market for donations to the summer reading program.
Read moreAssumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish Dante and St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Wagner held their joint summer religious education program Lumen Christi--Light of Christ June 24th - 28th, 2022 for grade school students. An evening session was held for the junior high and high school students. The parishes enjoyed a potluck and family night on Wednesday and the kids enjoyed the water fight fun on Thursday. Read moreThe Wagner Rotary Club met at Wagner Lake on Wednesday July 6th for an evening of work at the Rotary Shelter. There was no official meeting held but several members showed up with shovels, rakes, watering cans, and a post hole digger which saved the day!
Read moreBright and early Saturday morning paddlers racing in the Fort to Field 50 Paddle Battle filled the Randall Creek Rec Area. The Battle was from the Fort Randall Dam to Springfield with three checkpoints for racers to catch a quick break and a drink of iced water.
