When I look back on the 2025 season of the Lake Andes Farmers Market, I will be grateful for the vendors who became a part of our Farmers Market family. We are not mighty, but we are committed to maintaining a market in Lake Andes. The market offers a time for socializing, learning about new techniques for gardening or food preservation or sharing a recipe for one of the vegetables or fruits we have for sale. It is also fun to see people of all ages visiting the market.

An estimated 1,446 home cooking fires were reported to U.S. fire departments on Thanksgiving Day in 2023, reflecting a 388 percent increase over the daily average, according to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Christmas Day and Christmas Eve ranked as the second- and third-leading days of the year for home cooking fires.

President Jamie Soukup brought the meeting to order Wednesday, November 12th and proceeded to lead the members in saying the Rotary Grace. Rotarian Rachel Woods announced that our song for the day would be The Battle Hymn of the Republic. The day before our meeting was Veterans Day which made our song even more meaningful.

The month of November is VFW Veterans in the Classroom month. Five Post 7319 members visited the 5th grade social studies classrooms of Patrick Belling and Phillip Raysby on November 11th.

The annual VFW Post 7319 Veterans Day Banquet was held at the American Legion with a potluck supper at 7:00 p.m. on November 11, 2025. Toastmaster for the evening was Mark Roberts who welcomed everyone and then introduced officers of both the VFW and American Legion and their Auxiliaries as well as the Mayor of the city of Wagner. Post Chaplain, Don Hubbard, then gave the Invocation.
