LADY THUNDER VS. SIOUX FALLS LUTHERAN

On Thursday, October 2, the ACDC Thunder hosted Sioux Falls Lutheran in volleyball action, where they suffered a tough 0-3 loss on their home court. Despite strong efforts, the Thunder were unable to overcome the visiting team’s momentum.

WAGNER HANDLES HANSON IN 5 SETS

Wagner hosted the Hanson Beaverettes on Tuesday, September 30th. The Lady Raiders battled and pulled off the 5 set win with scores of 25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 22-25, and 16-14.

LADY RAIDERS SWEEP THE MUSTANGS IN 3 STRAIGHT SETS

The Wagner volleyball team traveled to Colton takeon the Tri-Valley Mustangs on Saturday, October 4th. The Lady Raiders picked up another win with scores of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-23 making them 15-4 on the season.

RAIDERS SECURE WIN OVER HUSKIES

Sophomore outside hitter Hannah Holzbauer led all hitters throwing down 20 kills in the win. Ravyn Medricky tallied 16, Braxton Nedved added 6 while Brianna Fuchs and Mateya Bruguier each added 5. Nedved dished out 43 assists in the match.

AVON SWEEPS IRENE/WAKONDA IN STRAIGHT SETS

The Avon varsity volleyball team hosted Irene/Wakonda last Tuesday evening and secured a dominant 3-0 victory, improving their season record to 8-5. Brielle Voigt and Kaydence Metzger each delivered 3 ace serves.

LADY PIRATES SWEEP COLOME; IMPROVE TO 9-5

The Avon Lady Pirates hit the road on September 25 and came away with a 3-0 sweep over Colome, bringing their season record to 9-5. The team delivered a strong performance at the service line, led by Jordyn Voigt with 5 ace serves.

The Avon Pirates have had an outstanding start to the first half of the season. They have worked hard this season by going to practices after school and during the summer. They remain undefeated this season, with a record of 5-0. The Pirates are currently ranked second in the 9B class.

Senior Spotlight

Al’Shamon James Gunter was born on December 20, 2007. His family members are his mom, Jamie, and his two brothers: the oldest, Aziah, and the youngest, Alvin. Al’s favorite subject in school is lunch because it makes his day—he loves food.
