In her first competition in a year, Britney Rueb claimed the 135-pound championship at the Floyd Farrand Girls Wrestling Tournament at Sioux Falls Lincoln on December 29. Hope Kemnitz-190 took second, and Sydney Johnson-115 placed fifth.

With three champions, one second, and one fifth the Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon girls scored 134 points, good enough for second at the McCook Central Montrose Tournament on January 2.

Saturday, January 3rd, 2026 Today’s meet was a great motivator for the girls. Seeing after only three meets where the girls stand was an eye opener to say the least. Today showed how they fare in their region on their best and worst events.

The Lady Raiders traveled to Winner on the last day of 2025 to make up what was supposed to be the season opener as mother nature had other plans in early December. Wagner would jump out to a 15-6.

The Lady Raiders hosted the Avon Pirates this past Saturday in girls basketball action. Wagner would hold a 17-13 lead after the first and then out score the Pirates 31-14 in the next two quarters as they would finish the game with a 62-42 victory.

Raiders Rally Late but Fall Just Short in Hard-Fought Varsity Loss to Mobridge-Pollock The Wagner boys varsity team showed a lot of resiliency on Tuesday afternoon. They played a very talented Mobridge-Pollock team and battled for 4 quarters.

History continues to be made on the hardwood for Wagner’s Ashlyn Koupal, and the Lady Raiders’ senior is doing it in dominant fashion. This past Saturday, Koupal etched her name even deeper into the Wagner record books during a 62–42 home victory over Avon.

The Avon Lady Pirates picked up a solid home-court win over Hanson, defeating the Beavers 49-42 in girls basketball action. Rilyn Thury led the way for Avon with 16 points, while Brielle Voigt and Kaydence Metzger each added 12 to help pace the Lady Pirates’ offense.
