Wagner hosted a youth basketball tournament for fifth through eighth grade teams on Saturday, January 24, welcoming 31 teams from around the region.

BHSA-28, Yankton-24 On January 23 at Tyndall, the Bon Homme/Scotland/ Avon girls won a 28-24 dual vs. Yankton.

The Avon Lady Pirates traveled to Canistota on Tuesday, January 13, and came away with a strong 53-22 victory. Rilyn Thury led the scoring for Avon with 18 points. Jordyn Voigt pulled down a team-high 8 rebounds, while Kaydence Metzger added 6 rebounds in the win.

The Avon Lady Pirates hosted Gregory on Monday, January 12, for a make-up contest and came alive in the second half to secure a 50-39 victory. Avon found its rhythm after halftime, using strong defense and balanced scoring to pull away from the Gorillas.

The Andes Central Lady Thunder traveled to Scotland on Friday night for a doubleheader against the Scotland/Menno Trappers, where they suffered a hard-fought 37–34 loss. Lily Muckey led the Lady Thunder with 10 points, while Halle Olson and Lily Niewenhuis each added eight.

The Wagner girls wrestling team traveled to Harrisburg on January 16 for the Harrisburg Invitational meet. The team gained valuable experience against strong opponents, with several wrestlers showcasing determination and grit.

The JV team was defeated 51-48 in a close game as well. Peytyn Wiechmann and Clarah Soukup led the Raiders with 13 points apiece. Clarah would add 7 boards, 5 steals, and dish out 3 assists. Peytyn would grab 4 boards, and dish out 4 assists.
