JEREMY AUNGIE

Jeremy Aungie, 40, of Wagner, died Friday, January 23, 2026 in Bruceton Mills, WV. Funeral services were held Thursday, February 5 at the Marty Community Center. Burial was in Hill Church Presbyterian. Peters Funeral Home of Wagner was in charge of arrangements.
Jeremy Evans Aungie was born on August 7, 1985 at Yankton. A son to Delano Aungie, Jr and Pamela (Weston) Aungie. He began his journey home on January 23, 2026 from Bruceton, WV having reached 40 years, five months and 16 days.
Jeremy grew up ten miles south of Wagner. He went to school at Wagner Community and Marty Indian School until the 11th grade. He later received his GED. His first job was at Fort Randall Casino in the dish room, he eventually worked his way up to Prep cook and finally a Line cook. He loved to grill out. He worked at Marty Indian School as an Assistant Cook.
He loved playing sports, fastpitch baseball, basketball and football. He enjoyed spending time with his family playing horseshoes, cards, hunting and fishing.
Jeremy’s biggest accomplishment was raising his two children, Jayden and Amaya, with the help of his parents. He was so proud of them, especially the young adults they are now becoming.
He leaves behind him to mourn his children Jayden (Marquessa) of Wagner and Amaya (Patrick) of Vermillion his three grandsons Jamari Evans, Kenaih Creed and Zyaire Marick. His parents Delano and Pamela Aungie, Jr., his siblings Delano III and Whitley, nephews Avery, Kole and Evans of Wagner. His auntie Tamara (Chop) Gunhammer and grandma Lavina Cook.
He is preceded in death by his Grandparents William and Gloria Aungie, Enos and Marion Grace Weston, Great Grandma Alice Ree, Great Grandpa Smith Jandreau and Grandpa Steve Red Buffalo. His uncles Enos Weston, Jr. and Nicolas Aungie, Sr. Aunties Cathy Weston, Patty Weston, and Dorothy Weston. Cousins Mark Aungie, Wasu Wanagi LaPlante, and Jonas Aungie.
