Wagner took five athletes to the Howard Wood Dakota Relays this past Friday and Saturday, May 1 and 2.Our boys placed 14th in the Class A division of the 4x100 Relay. The team of Gannon Knebel, Shea Kjeldgaard, Beau Otte, and Brayden Kreber tied their best time of the year coming in at 45.07.

Rilyn Thury hit two home runs and was robbed of a third as she drove in four as the Lady Pirates defeated Alcester Hudson 12-2 on Monday. Rilyn homered in the second and fifth innings.

Avon Varsity Pirate’s bats were strong against Scotland/ Menno on Monday, but it wasn't enough as the Avon Lady Pirates fell 17-14. Jordyn Voigt drove in five runners in the loss. The leadoff hitter went 3-4 on the day. Avon Fell behind 7 to 0 after 2 innings and could never recover.

Applications are currently being accepted for Preschool Enrollment at Avon School District for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants must be four years of age by August 31. Please return applications by May 29, 2026. The cost for the program is $130 per month.

TheWagner/Avon/LakeAndes Varsity Raiders held off a late rally to defeat the MVPCS Padres 10-9 on Saturday, April 18 in Plankinton.Leading the way for the Raiders was Doom, who drove in four runs on two hits.

Avon Invitational was held Thursday, April 15th.

The Wagner/Avon/Lake Andes Varsity Raiders struggled to keep pace with Gregory County Club Baseball 18U, falling 15-5 on Sunday, April 19 in Wagner.

The Andes Central/Dakota Christian track team stayed busy last week, competing at both the Wagner Invitational on Tuesday and the Avon Invitational on Thursday. Results and individual performances were not available at press time.
