DAKOTA AT HOME

Aging can be a difficult thing. Whether it’s harder on the one growing older, or their loved ones, I’m not sure. When a spouse or a parent grows older and starts to need help with everyday tasks, there are many difficult decisions to make.

LOCAL 2018 SEASON CONCLUDES SATURDAY NIGHT AT WAGNER SPEEDWAY

The 2018 racing season came to a close this past Saturday night in front of a packed house at Wagner Speedway with the evening's events sponsored by the Fort Randall Casino and Hotel, Tracy's Paint and Body, Inc of Parkston and the South Dakota Lottery.

WCS HOMECOMING WEEK

This week is Homecoming Week at Wagner Community School, September 10-14. Students have various dress-up days planned throughout the week for the event. They include: Monday: Construction Day Tuesday: Disney/Pixar Day (Following the volleyball game against Avon will be Coronation at 8 p.m.

ANDES CENTRAL SCHOOL BUILDING/ REMODEL UPDATE

The building/remodel project undertaken by the Andes Central School District is well on its way to completion. The remodel section of the building is complete. The principal's and secretary's offices are housed for the first semester in what will become new middle school classrooms.

This Week in ROTARY NEWS

The Wagner Rotary Club gathered for a regular meeting on Wednesday August 29th back at the clubhouse on Main Street. In case you didn’t notice we have not had a Rotary Report the last two weeks.

Suicide is a growing problem in South Dakota. Last year we had the highest number of suicides on record. It was the ninth leading cause of death and the second leading cause of death for individuals age 10 to 34. Around 5 percent of the population experiences thoughts of suicide each year.
