In appropriations this week, we cleared our docket of bills. Next week begins the task of putting all the pieces together, and it will be a busy time.

4-H RABBIT AND POULTRY 4-H CLUB MEETING FEBRUARY 27

If you have a 5-18 year old who is interested in either rabbits or poultry as a possible 4-H project, now is the time to get involved! Bon Homme County 4-H Rabbit and Poultry Club is a friendly group that will help you get started on the right foot in a 4-H Small Animal project.

ANNUAL WEED & PEST MEETING SET

The Annual Meeting of the Bon Homme County Weedand Pest Board will be held Thursday, March 5th at 8:00 a.m., at the Courthouse Annex, Tyndall. Board members and any area residents are encouraged to attend. Spray policies and guidelines for 2026 will be set.

Week 6 is in the books, and it was the busiest week we’ve had in Pierre so far. We had several long floor sessions, and committees met in the late afternoon and evening hours as well on multiple days, which is rare.

The Legislative Session is two thirds done with the completion of Week Six. I was the Senate Prime for Senate Bill 1035 which modifies license requirements to obtain a Certified Public Accountant License.
