SCHOOL BOARD ELECTION HELD

Avon School District held an election Tuesday, April 11 for two positions for school board. The results from the election were as follows: John Fathke, Jr.

ROAD CONSTRUCTION HAS BEGUN

Asphalt surfacing projects began Monday, April 17th for S.D. Highway 46 between S.D. Highway 37 and the town of Wagner, as well as S.D. Highway 50 from the intersection with S.D. Highway 46 south to the Bon Homme/Charles Mix County line.

Johnny Nash may have started his song with “I can see clearly now, the rain has gone,” but what about someone with cataracts. They cannot easily see “all the obstacles in their way”, and there are not “dark clouds that make you blind” like in the song, but cataracts do cause vision clouding.

10 Years Ago - April 3, 2013 Avon Science Fair students 'Clean House' at Region Meet. A large crowd gathered as over 100 kids participated in the annual Easter Egg Hunt. A card shower was held for Harold and Arlis Tjeerdsma's 50th wedding anniversary.
