By

Wagner put together an impressive all-around performance Friday night, scoring 82 points on the road to earn a win over Burke and improve to 9-2 on the season.

The Raiders’ ninth victory of the year was fueled by strong outings from Jesse Zephier, Carlos Galindo, and Ky Arpan, who each filled the stat sheet in a balanced offensive attack.

Zephier led Wagner with a double-double, finishing with 24 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Galindo matched Zephier with 24 points of his own and added six assists, keeping the Raiders’ offense running smoothly throughout the night.

Arpan made his presence felt inside, scoring eight points while pulling down a gamehigh 15 rebounds and dishing out seven assists. Michael Koupal added 11 points and seven rebounds for Wagner, while Leon Fields and Payne Petry chipped in six points apiece. Jackson Woods rounded out the scoring with four points.

With the win, Wagner continues its strong start to the season and will look to keep the momentum going Tuesday night when the Raiders travel to Corsica.

Strong Defense Lifts Raiders JV Past Burke The Wagner JV boys picked up another win Friday night in Burke, turning in a strong defensive performance against the Cougars.

The game was shortened due to Burke being short-handed, but Wagner made the most of the opportunity, holding the Cougars to just four points for the entire contest. The Raiders’ defense set the tone from the opening tip and remained steady throughout the night.

Payne Petry led Wagner in scoring with 12 points. Avery Medicine Bear followed with eight points, while Ron Knudsen added seven. Jackson Woods and Russell Standing Cloud each finished with three points, and Bailer Lhotak chipped in two to round out the scoring.
