MATTHEW 5:13-16 'Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and but put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify, your Father which is in heaven.' (KJV) PROVERBS 4:12 'But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.' (KJV) JOHN 8:12 'Then spake Jesus unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.' (KJV) We, when we get saved, should follow the Scriptures and step out into the world--and live by them. In so doing, others will see that something that is different about us.
We should be walking in the light of Jesus, happy and rejoicing in our salvation, ignoring the world's ways of darkness, and living for the Lord.
We are not to get saved and keep it to ourselves. God wants us to spread what we have received to others--thus pleasing the Lord.
If we just hold it into ourselves and tell no one else, we are worth nothing to God for the furtherance of His Gospel.
We have to go from darkness and believe the Word, be saved by the blood of Jesus, and share the Word with others.
We are saved from darkness and we have become the light of the world. If we do not share it, others will stay in darkness.
Jesus came--told His message-died and rose again returning to heaven leaving the light of His Word to shine through us.
Is your light bright--can others see the light through you?
