10 Years Ago - 2009
Wagner Community School Volleyball Coach, Amy Tyler along with Assistant Coast Amy Cooper of Avon High School led the SD All-Star South Team to a 3-1 win over the North Team at Northern State University in Aberdeen. Tyler was also Region 5 Coach of the Year. Kelsey Krcil and Mary Kocer of Wagner and Jenn Wepking of Avon were three of twenty-three state-wide volleyball players selected to participate in the All-Star Volleyball Game.
Stacy Knebel, Assistant Volleyball Coach for Wagner Community School, received her Class A Assistant Coach of the Year award at the games in Aberdeen as well.
Work on the track for Andes Central had begun.
Joyce Soulek purchased the Sportman's Choice cafe in Lake Andes becoming its new owner along with her husband Walt.
20 Years Ago - 1999
It was announced that the Miss Tootsie contest was returning to the Labor Day celebration.
Reigning champ at that time was Chuck Kocer. Rick Thaler was 1st runner-up and Richard Andersh as 2nd runner-up.
They were in need of gowns and contestants for the fun contest.
Richard Turner, 1999 WHS graduate, took part in the North- South football All-Star game held in Aberdeen SD.
Mandy Koupal, 1999 WHS graduate, led South All Stars to a 54-51 girls' basketball victory over the North at the 13th Annual North/South All-Star Games held in Aberdeen.

Mildred Barnhart and John Stedronsky exchanged vows on August 2.
Mrs. Mike Soukup won a week's vacation on a houseboat at Lake Onamia, MN. The contest was held in Rivin Bros. Stores in South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota.

The Wagner Washateria opened in the building formerly occupied by Jim's Sport Shop. Mrs. Roaphy Boyd was the Owner.

Joseph Soukup displayed a sample of his wheat, which he estimates had a yield of 15 bushels per acre.
The Moe school house was moved a mile south of its former location to accommodate more scholars. Miss Irene Gale, living north of Wagner, signed a contact to teach there.
