Wagner-Bon Homme gymnasts brought home a third place trophy from the state meet.

Former Wagner graduate, Cari Ann (Uecker) Folkens has recently graduated from Mount Marty College with a Family Nurse Practitioner Degree.

Advancing to the state wrestling tournament were: Logan Kafka, Colton Frei, Truman Ashes, and Ben Soukup.

1996

A routine traffic stop for a speeding violation resulted in three misdemeanor drug arrests in Wagner. Those three arrests also led to other drug arrests.

Brandi Kathleen was born to proud parents Mark and Lorraine Ober.

Colin and Dawn Soukup are proud to announce the birth of their daughter Bobbi Jo. She joins a brother, Bryce.

The Region V solo and ensemble contest was held February 14 in Kimball. Receiving superior ratings were Jesse Pravecek, Scott Donelan, Eric Wiechmann, Devin Bastemeyer, Lorie Swatek, Kevin Kaberna, Stephanie Villmow, Jacob Soukup, and Deb Winckler.

Mike Rados and Rebecca Gies were King and Queen at the 'Home with Heart' held at WGSC.

Karol Kocer was chosen president of the newly formed Wagner Community Club with JoAnn Mareska as vice president, Retta Blaha, secretary and Pat Simon, treasurer.

Richard Greger took fourth place in the State Wrestling Tournament.

Diane Bridge was selected to participate in the SD All State Band.

Mabel's Dress Shoppe opened in Wagner. Owner is Mabel Meyer of Tyndall. It is managed by Shelby Stone and assisted by Shirley Broz.

LaVerne Andersh was the recipient of the 'Scoutmaster of the Year' award presented at a recognition dinner held in Mitchell.

Junior Catholic Daughters presented a layette to Mrs. James Zacharias for Steven James who was the first baby born during Junior Week.

A miscellaneous post nuptial shower was held for Mrs. James Jiricek nee Janice Denker.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. R.R. Rueb.

Services were held for E.D. Sadler. Dr. Sadler was an active veterinarian in Wagner for 52 years.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bartunek and a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Kaberna.

A group of baseball players met in Tabor to form the Missouri Valley League. Towns included were Vermillion, Yankton, Scotland, Tyndall, Tabor, Wagner, Menno, and Delmont.
