10 YEARS AGO

Wagner Community School held its annual Veteran’s Day Program and Emily Robertson was the 5th grade writing winner for the American Legion Americanism Essay. Other students who presented essays were Sadie Eitemiller, Ciara Nelson, Jagger Tyler, Lizzy Tyler, Olivia Breen, Jillian Beeson, and Marcus Zephier.

A time capsule from 1989 was opened during the Pickstown Veteran’s Day Program. Found in the capsule was a t-shirt, a preserved photograph, an excerpt from the Wagner Post, and a Centennial Celebration flyer.

Valley Pump and Casino was recognized by the Wagner Chamber of Commerce for the new improvements to the business. They added built in coolers and extended restrooms with stalls.

20 YEARS AGO

2005

Crystal Dvoracek and Kara Schroeder were named to the LMVC All-Conference team. Receiving Honorable Mention were Jena Doom and Whiteney Dickerson.

Students of the month at Marty Indian School were Fury Rouse, Logan Shields, Zane Zephier, and William Shields.

Local Girl Scouts Troop #9207 leading a Bone Marrow Drive were CJ Krcil, Crystal Dvoracek, Amanda Horner, and Megan Uecker.

30 YEARS AGO

1995

Freshman Mandy Koupal was selected to the Little Missouri Valley All-Conference team.

Wagner Alco Store donated $76.23 to the Wagner Community Club. The money was raised during the recent “Cutest Baby Contest.”

45 YEARS AGO

1980

Ruby Wiechmann was named Charles Mix County Honor Lady at the Holiday Extension Tea.

Jim Woster was speaker at the Rotary Club.

60 YEARS AGO

1965

Wrestling was added to the sports at Wagner Public School. Linda Stogsdill was president of the FHA.

60 YEARS AGO

1955

US Army PFC Paul Von Colin arrived home from Korea.

Daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Mick Dougle and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Petrik.
