Jenae Jaeger and Brandon Tycz were engaged. 1st place pedal pull winners ages 4-12, starting with the girls were: 4 – Chloe Otto, 5 – Andrea Kuchta, 6 – Ravyn Medricky, 7 – Trinity Thompson, 8 – Ashlyn Koupal, 9 – Aubrey Medricky, 10 – Kya Kjeldgaard, 12 – Adriana Urquijo.

John Ramsdell was the Parade Marshal. Kent Gabriel, Springfield was the winner of the top money in the talent show contest held during Labor Day.
Ed’s Bar won the double elimination slow pitch softball tournament.
Maxine Wolf and Doug Hill exchanged vows. A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Kelly Cole.

Wilma Jean Bouska and Dennis Vilhauer announced their engagement.
Five hundred and fifty students enrolled at Wagner Public School.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Rada. Maurice Goldhammer was ordained at St. John Lutheran Church in Wagner. He received a Bachelor of Divinity at Concordia Seminary.

Charles Stedronsky, 59, passed away at Ft. Randall Hospital in Pickstown. Mr. Stedronsky was owner of Central Hardware, Stedronsky Funeral Home and a former Mayor.
Stock car driver Leonard Stogsdill was critically injured in a race at Sioux Falls.
Adolph Sykora, owner of Sykora Chevrolet Co. announced the sale of his business to Max Honke.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Carda. A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Archie McDonnald.

The Milwaukee railroad began running a daily freight to Springfield.
Gordon Sargent, Orville Flynn, Darlene Mundt and Keith Schroeder were enrolled in the first grade at Lawrence No. 2. Mrs. Lew Anderson was the teacher.
The M.D. ladies served a splendid chicken dinner with all the trimmings on Labor Day for 25 cents.
