2015

Over the month of July, Valley Pump and Casino finished their remodeling efforts now offering 24-hour pay at the pumps, extended bathrooms and new built-in coolers.

Megan Zephier, who played for the South Dakota Select 16U team from Sioux Fall and senior at Wagner Community School, played in the 2015 Colorado Sparkler All Star Showcase Games in Westminster, Colorado.

Two Wagner residents and collegiate swimmers, Jacquelin (University of Nebraska Lincoln) and Kathleen Juffer (University of South Dakota) were recognized for their academic achievements and had both contributed to the success of these NCAA Swimming and Diving teams.

2005

Members of the 1st Infantry reported for duty at Fort Randall. Tourists gathered and were entertained and informed about the history of Fort Randall.

John Otte and number #9er7 have been a familiar on the dirt track for many years.

Several Wagner graduates who all were also actively enrolled students at South Dakota State University achieved numerous honors. Rachel Doom maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average awarding herself a spot on the Dean’s List for academic excellence during the Spring 2005 semester. Matthew J. Hill of Dante and Tyler Cuka of Wagner were both awarded the Campanile Scholarship for the 2005-2006 school year. Kristi Donelan of Wagner was awarded a Yellow and Blue Scholarship for the 2005-2006 school year.

1995

Dave Isebrands, Howard Bich and Phil Becker were among eight cyclists who competed a four-day 312-mile bike trek across South Dakota that started at Hecla and ended at Gavin’s Point Dam.

Stacy Holzbauer was crowned Miss Teen of South Dakota. George Smith received his 50-year pin from the Masons.

1980

Over 210 alumni attended the first Pickstown school reunion.

Lila Daily, former employee at the VFW Lounge accepted the position as Lounge Manager Rose Mazourek was honored on her 80th birthday.

70 YEARS AGO

1955

A dinner was held for Mrs. Harold Coin who retired after 20 years with the telephone company.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Vern Pope and a daughter to Mr. and Mrs. George Corey.

Yolanda Rombuio and Robert Crist exchanged vows. Vern Moehling was honored at a surprise party on his 25th year with Northwestern Public Service.

The Wagner vicinity received a good shower after having 100-degree temperatures.

Patricia Cihak was honored at a bridal shower.
