The Wagner/Bon Homme gymnastics team was headed to the state competition on February 13th and 14th after the team won regions. Team members included Jensen Holzbauer, Adrian Weber, Chelsey Hisek, Hannah Fleming, Rachel Dion, Krista Dvorak, Joanna Soukup and Emily Duffek.

Wagner Community School Counselor, Dana Sanderson, was named the VFW “High School Teacher of the Year”.

Emily Brusing was awarded the Outstanding Female Athlete Award by WCS Principal Neil Goter.

Sophie Kafka and Laddie Cuka were crowned the 2005 King and Queen at the Home with Heart festivities at the Wagner Good Samaritan Center on Valentine’s Day.

Hannah Lee Pierson was welcomed into the family of Darren, Mary and Nicole Pierson.

Alexander Fredrich was born to Jeff and Suzanne Fredrich. Brian Johnson and Katherine Ronfeldt were pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming marriage.

Open house and ribbon cutting ceremonies were held at King Koin Laundry and Dry Cleaning.

Sylvia Pelizza was the new manager of the Lake Andes National Wildlife Refuge.

After 92 years of service to the Wagner Community, Stedronsky Bros closed its door for the final time on February 14th.

Tara Giziewski and Terry Bush announced their engagement.

Tom Ptak and Rose Walters were the 1995 King and Queen of Hearts at the Wagner Good Samaritan Center.

Jane Heines and Wayne Payer announced their engagement.

Todd Zephier, senior at Marty school, attended Dakota Wesleyan Upward Bound Program for the last two summers and was chosen the most Outstanding Upward Bound Student and was awarded a scholarship.

Janis Trantina was teaching at Wessington Springs.

Dr. F.M. Blezek passed away at Tabor. Dr. Blezek had practiced medicine for 47 years and was well known to people in the Wagner Community.

Movies showing at Elbs Theatre were “The Egyptian”, “The Bounty Hunter” and “Four Guns to the Border”.
