30 Years Ago – 1994 Dan and Carol Morrow celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

Melissa Olson was the Wagner Good Samaritan employee of the month.

Artist Van St. John featured his paintings at an open house held at Kocer’s Kountry Krafts.

Tom and Linda Soukup celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary.

Republican candidate for governor, William Janklow attended the Wagner Rotary Club meeting.

45 Years Ago – 1979 Theresa Kocer, Patty Kokesh, Scott Weber and Tommy Kocer were chosen to represent the Wagner School at the SD All State Chorus held in Watertown.

Members of the 137th Engr. Battalion who received promotions were Sgt. First Class Duane H Winckler, Private First Class Karen Kloucek and Sgt. Raymond Kayser.

60 Years Ago – 1964 Tom Ptak’s band played at the Firemen’s Dance.

Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bures celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Martin.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Richard Beeson.

Eleven plane loads of hunters flew in at the Wagner Airport.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Leo J. Novak on October 24th.

70 Years Ago – 1954 Marie Schuldt celebrated her 82nd birthday.

Several local volunteers completed the installation runway lighting at the Wagner Airport. Fourteen lights were installed on each side of the east/west runway.

A prenuptial shower was held for Lillie Laska.

Donna Terpening was President of the Junior Jolly Homemakers. Karen Kisley, Vice-President; Carlene Crisman, Secretary; and Johanna Stone, Treasurer.

92 Years Ago – 1932 The Wagner football team was defeated by Tyndall and by Springfield.

Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Yungbluth entertained a group of friends in honor of their son, Loyson, who was 12 years old.

Fred Baxa was one of the five students at State College who was chosen to take advanced R.O.T.C. work.

R.F. Anderson and son, Bernard, went to Tyndall to get flour from the Mennonite flour mill.

Seniors, Lyle Carpenter and Theodore Kindt, were absent from school for four days in order to help pick corn.
