Mandy Koupal was inducted in the Coyote Sports Hall of Fame.

Ray and Jane Kostel donated two geese lawn ornaments to the Wagner Good Samaritan.

20 Years Ago – 2004

Mary Ann Mitchell was recognized for 40 years of services to the Commercial State Bank. Commercial State Bank President, Donald F. Kotab presented her with this award.

Jayme Jo Soulek and Wayne L. Bergin, Jr. were united in marriage.

Gavin Michael was born to Renee Dilts and Mike Swanson; Kieran James was born to Tony and Kendra Harrell; Connor David was born to Laura and Dave Livermore; and Kathryn Rose was born to Todd and Amy Doom.

A card shower was requested in honor of Paul Giziewski’s 80th Birthday.

Nickolas Rezac graduated from basic training.

Kasi Brown qualified in barrel racing for the 2004 Mid-States Rodeo Association Finals in Kearney, NE.

30 Years Ago – 1994

Elmira Moore, Bessie Scobel and Grace Crisman were honored for their 60 plus years in the American Legion Auxiliary.

Jamie Schroeder and Janelle Swatek were Homecoming Royalty at Wagner Community School.

Four World War I Veterans were honored at a banquet held at the VFW in Wagner.

A grand opening was held at Rookie’s Dining and Sports Bar.

45 Years Ago – 1979

Maude Deurmier celebrated her 90th birthday.

Bert Andersh left for the Air Force.

Roy Von Eschen was honored at banquet for his forty years of service with Bell Telephone.

Wally Payer was among 452 freshmen who were attending St. John’s University.

Dan Horner was in the Air Force and stationed at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.

70 Years Ago – 1954

Pastor John Wild of Zion Lutheran in Delmont was honored by his congregation at a special Jubilee Service in observance of his 25th anniversary in the ministry.

Diana Bastemeyer was honored at a miscellaneous bridal shower.

92 Years Ago – 1932

O.F. Janda moved his barber shop equipment from the Stevens building to the McHale building located between the Bakery and Masonic building.

Miss Margaret Palvis was staying at the Frank Schroeder home while attending high school in Wagner.

The third grade in Wagner had 38 pupils. Donald and Melvern Bastemeyer and Donald Hare enrolled here from other schools.
