Mary Ann Deurmier was one of four South Dakota ladies named 1994 Eminent Homemaker and was honored at a banquet held at SD State University, Brookings. Funeral services were held for Anastasia Nylander. Ann founded the Wagner Announcer in 1935 and was the publisher for 18 years.

A last-minute notice was received from Miss Daisy Wheeler that she could not teach the Doty school this term so Miss Thelma McKee was hired to fill the vacancy.
Harvey Johannsen had been working at the Dick Yusten farm.
The Dante School opened with Miss Laura Larkin teaching.
Spontaneous combustion was blamed for a disastrous fire that destroyed a large barn, considerable grain, one horse and harness on the Joe Bures farm.
Alfred Barnes, a farmer in Highland Township lost his tractor as a result of a fire which occurred while the grain at the W.F. Lyons farm was being threshed.
