10 Years Ago – 2014
The former Post Office in Dante that closed in 2006 and was then sold in 2009 to Mike and Miranda Medricky was moved from Main Street to its new location on the northwest side of Dante.
A card shower was requested for Leona Horst for her 80th birthday.
WCS returned 15 letter winners for the 2014-2015 school year including Kylar Kafka, Hunter Hewitt, Chase Zephier, Jubal Grant, Lukas Young, Andrew Soukup, Jacob Kvigne, Trevor Lensing, Rachel Dion, Tayleigh Kuap, Krista Dvorak, Brooklyn Tolliver, Ali Kuca, Emily Brunsing, and Karlee Schroeder.

Norman E. Cihak resigned as Charles-Mix County Auditor.
A son, Benjamin Raymond, was born to Dan and Nicki Swatek.
Christina L. Fischer, a Wagner native, joined the law firm of May, Adam, Gerde, and Thompson, LLP, Pierre as an associate.
Wagner class of 1959 held their 45th reunion.

Tom and Pat Abdouch sold their business “The Short Stop & Pizza Ranch.'
Ribbon cutting ceremonies were held at the 911-center located within the Charles Mix County Law Enforcement Center in Lake Andes.
A daughter, Maggie Lorene, was born to Curtis and Marla Smith.
Arlie Heier was the new general manager of the Farmer’s Coop Association in Wagner.
55 Years Ago – 1979
The Wagner Post received considerable damage due to the fire caused by lightning. In order to carry on, offices were set up in the old Methodist Church.
The Yankton Sioux Tribe elected Larry Cournoyer to a second two-year term as Tribal Chairman.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Jim Meyers, a son to Mr. and Mrs. John Beeson, and a son to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Beeson.

Patty Cuka resigned as 1964 Labor Day Queen.
The Marc Goldhammer farm was selected as first place winner in the Conservation Contest in Charles Mix Soil and Water Conservation District.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gale announced the secret marriage of their daughter, Jessie, to Mr. Leo Connelly. The wedding took place early in the spring.
Fred C. Dresselhuyas died from injuries in a crash at North Central Kansas Free Fair. The accident was the most tragic climax of one of the most widely known racing careers in S.D.
