10 Years Ago – 2014
Keith and Mardell Schroeder were chosen as the 2014 Labor Day Parade Marshals.
2014 Labor Day Queen Candidates were announced and included Emily Brunsing, Cheyanne Buck, Sadie Eitemiller, Taleigh Kaup, Hannah Mattis and Kristan Soukup.
Wagner Mayor, Don Hosek, presented checks to the City of Canton and Wessington Springs finance officers to aid in their disaster recovery. The funds were raised from a bake sale and rummage held in Wagner.
Wagner Community School began classes for the 2014-2015 school year.

Jeremy Armstrong has been assigned the CEO position at the Wagner Memorial Hospital.
Mick and Julie Kirwan announced the birth of their son, Carson Reider.
The South-Central Water Development awarded a $13,000 grant to the Randall Community Water District during its monthly board meeting.

Bill Frei, the new owner of Triple F Supply was welcomed into business by the Wagner Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Melissa Weisser and Shane Odens exchanged vows on August 20th.
Suby and Lorraine Fidone celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Connie Syrovakta and Jack Robertson exchanged vows.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Powers celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Maureen Crisman was National Second Vice President of the Junior Catholic Daughters.

The Snappy Wagner Baby Beef Club held their regular meeting at the home of Marvin Schnose.
Frank Rogers, former publisher of the “Wagner Citizen” has taken over the publishing of the Bennett County News at Martin.
Businessmen were preparing for the annual Labor Day celebration. Lee Chapman, Pat Connors, A.T. Cole, W.W. Hoover and E.I. Lewis were in charge of the entertainment; Ray Conlon, A.Vogel, Ben Morgan and Charles Swett were in charge of sports; concessions was C.C. James and music was Tom Wagner, Ernest Dark and J.V. Janda. Labor Day Marshal was R.W. Hipple.
