Jordan Tuttle offered professional vehicle tinting at local business, Custom Touch.

Wagner held their 7th annual Cancer Walk.

The Charles Mix County 4-H Achievement Days were held on July 29th, 31st and August 1st.

20 Years Ago – 2004

Three-year-old, Rainbow Star Zephier, the reigning Little Miss South Dakota Baby Petite, represented the state of South Dakota and the Yankton Sioux Tribe in the Little Miss World Pageant in New Orleans recently.

Jerrod Rolston and Annie Preheim announced their engagement.

Travis and Jackie Beeson announced the birth of their daughter, Summer Grace.

Kevin Kaberna was accepted into the Master of Business Program at the Harvard Business School.

Employees at the Wagner Good Samaritan Center were awarded the Safety Achievement Award flag for “No Lost Time Safety “.

Anne Podhradsky took over the position as Head Librarian when Monica Soukup retired from the position after 24.5 years.

The Teeners 13–14-year-old team placed 4th at the State Teener Baseball Tournament. The team also brought home the Sportsmanship Award.

The Wagner Fire Department purchased a 2004 freightliner fire truck.

The Boys and Girls Club hosted Kids Day at the Wagner Lake.

The 153rd Engineer Battalion Poker Run/Convoy was held Saturday July 31st with 100 people in attendance.

Ernie Bures was named the 1994 Wagner Labor Day Honorary Parade Marshal.

Lynn Beeson and Paul Namminga announced their engagement.

Paula Johnson interned as Health Care Administrator at the Lake Andes Health Care during the summer.

45 Years Ago – 1979

Winners for the craziest garb during the Crazy Day celebration were Leon Robsahn, Agnes Nedved and Jim Leines.

The Dante girls claimed the 2nd place trophy at the Girls Softball Tournament. Lake Andes won the championship.

Diane Kostel was honored at a bridal shower.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. David Andersh.

The temperature on August 6th was 103 degrees, August 7th, it was 102 degrees and August 8th it was 94 degrees.

60 Years Ago – 1964

Jane Nolan and Keith Fischer exchanged vows.

Wagner Heights was the new residential area in the City of Wagner as evidenced by the construction of the W.E. Aubert home. The area is located just east of the Wagner Good Samaritan Center and encompasses 19 acres and at that time 24 lots were available.

A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Weisser.

70 Years Ago – 1954

Lorraine Crisman and Lawrence Kirchhevel exchanged vows.

Buildings on the Lester Deurmier, Art Iverson, Albert Verba, Frank Carda, William Bromert and Ivan Hall farms received heavy damage from a tornado.

The Harney Oil Company founded in 1929 by T.J. Harney was purchased by Standard Oil Co.

O.L. Menefu took charge of the oil station at Burian Garage.

Oats on the Henry Newkirk made 40 bushels to the acre.

Dante ball team defeated the Van Osdel team from Yankton 22-3.
