WCS juniors and senior music students went on a trip to Branson, MO.
Young Eagles Flight was hosted by the Wagner Municipal Airport. This is a program that is used to garner interest in ages 8-17 in flying.
John and Stacy Holzbauer announced the birth of their daughter, Rachel.
A card shower was asked for honoring Bill Holec for his upcoming 90th birthday.
20 Years Ago – 2004
Clara Kocer was the guest of honor at an open house for her 100th birthday.
Jay and Lori Kokes announced the birth of their son, Myles Joseph.
Derek Dickerson received a plaque from Rod Carew, Baseball Hall of Famer, for placing second at the Pepsi Pitch, Hit and Run 2004 Minnesota Twins Team Championship held at the Metrodome.
The United Methodist Church in Wagner is receiving a whole new look with more remodeling being done.
Ravinia School closed in 1967, but soon a monument with the names of graduates, underclassmen, teachers and board members as well as a drawing of the school will stand where the school once stood to preserve the wonderful memories.
30 Years Ago - 1994
Tom Brokaw attended the reunion held in Pickstown and was the guest speaker at the banquet.
Russel Rysavy and Pamela Ellwein announced their engagement.
The extending of 500 feet to the Wagner airport runway was underway. When completed the runway will be 3500 foot long.
45 Years Ago – 1979 A retirement party was held for Floyd Reed from his position with the Charles Mix County Emergency and Disaster Service.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. David Honomichl on July 7 and a son to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wiechmann on July 7.
Michael Seiner celebrated his 1st birthday.
60 Years Ago – 1964
Mr. and Mrs. John P Krcil celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Karen Hron and Dennis Horner announced their engagement.
The completion of Hwy 46 between Hwy 37 and 50 was to be completed by September 1st.
Funeral services were held for Ben V. Morgen, former resident of Wagner, who at one time was in the banking business.
70 Years Ago – 1954
Specials at G.F. Buche were watermelon, 3.5 cents per pound; lemons 42 cents for a dozen; Morell’s Cervelot, 39 cents per pound; and cookies, 3 packages, $1.00.
Sam Greger was grand prize winner at Huck Finn Day with his catch of a 1 pound, 4 ¾ oz carp. In the girl’s division, Joan Honomichl was the grand prize winner.
Thomas Harney passed away at the age of 91. In 1986, Mr. Harney and Albert Baynton organized the First State Bank and in 1892 the bank was sold. Harney had been in various businesses, most connected to ranching and the livestock industry.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wiechmann.
95 Years Ago – 1932
A carload of government flour arrived at the local Milwaukee railroad depot. It consisted of 1800 sacks containing 24 pounds each which was given out through the Wagner Red Cross. Each applicant who was considered worthy received 3 sacks.
Anna Schroeder spent the last year working at the Tom Harney home.
