Cody Snyder was State Champ in Shot Put and Discus. Riley Svatos and Jessica Walder of Lake Andes and Dana Permann of Pickstown were named on SDSU's Dean's list. Brandi Gau and Cody Tahler were listed on Dakota State University's Honors list. The City Pool was getting new drains installed. Jordan Foos of Pickstown was named on Mount Marty College's Dean's List. 2nd annual Fish days tournament was held. Darryl Duermier and his fishing coach Trevor Duermier placed first ($155) by hooking a 8.16 lb catch. $100 second place went to TJ Schacht and Kelly Tschumper and third place went to the dynamic duo Rod and Rick Bergin.

Kaylene Stirling was one of 15 area high school juniors to be awarded a Dakota Wesleyan University Faculty Award for Academic Excellence.

Murals hanging in the Charles Mix County Courthouse were dedicated. They were painted by local artists Luverne Selwyn and Greg Zephier.

All proceeds from any Fish Days Women's Organizations were to go to the Lake Andes Memorial Hospital Fund. Randall Feed Supply was to have a grand opening on June 6.

The goal of $15,000 was reached for the Medical Arts Building. A total of 80 acres of trees were planted on 51 Charles Mix Country farms.
