• Emma Yost scored her 1000th career point at the basketball game against Bon Homme.
• Wagner Community Hospital- Avera sponsored an 11th annual 8th grade career day at the Wagner National Guard Armory.
• Jhett Breen was awarded most valuable player at the Easter/West Duals.
JUNE
• Wagner held their 26th Annual Basketball camp where 116 3rd-12th grade boys and girls attended.
• The 2nd Annual 605 Unity Jam was held.
• Eleanor Anderson celebrated her 100th Birthday at Wagner Good Samaritan Society.
• East Lake Andes Lutheran Church celebrated their 125th year of ministry.
• A damaging wind storm hit Wagner with winds clocked at 109 mph.
• 229 registered voters participated in the election. Chad Kreeger, Danielle Krcil and Patrick Breen were selected for another term.
NOVEMBER
• Wagner American Legion Auxiliary members donated a check to the Wagner Community school Back Pack Program in the amount of $400.
• The community pulled together for a large fire at Wagner Good Samaritan.
• Wagner Lady Raiders bring home 7th place from the State Volleyball Tournament.
FEBRUARY
• Olivia Breen, senior at Wagner community School was selected to serve as a legislative page in the State Capitol.
• Kathryn Doom was selected as the winner of the South Dakota VFW Voice of Democracy contest.
• Coach Koupal was honored on his 200th win.
• Wagner Bon Homme Gymnasts placed 6th at state.
• Governor Noem declared the week of February 7th as National School Counseling week.
• 6 Wagner wrestlers qualified for State.
JULY
• Charles Mix County competed in the annual 4-H Horse Show.
• Emma Yost competed at the HOSA International Leadership conference in Nashville, Tennessee.
• Pickstown held their Annual Fourth of July Parade.
• Fifteen Rotarians and friends showed up to replant the flowers and shrubs around Wagner Rotary Shelter.
• Bradley Dangel from Charles Mix placed 8th in silhouettes and 10th overall at The National Shooting Sports Championships.
DECEMBER
• A ribbon cutting and open house was held at Frei Insurance to celebrate the improvements to the recently remodeled and relocated insurance office.
• The winter weather impacted Wagner's Annual Light Parade. The parade was shorter than usual and the icy roads, wind and snow kept the crowd away.
MARCH
• After the official ground-breaking in October or 2020, the long -awaited new office and shop facility for the Charles Mix Electric Association opened to the public.
• Wagner Lady Red Raiders received fourth place at the South Dakota State Tournament.
• Tim Simonsen was honored for his retirement as Wagner Chief of Police.
• The American Legion Auxiliary celebrated its 103rd birthday.
AUGUST
• A Brown Pelican was sighted in South Dakota, there have only been seven sightings of the Brown Pelican in South Dakota.
• Cayla Nelson named SD Teen 2022.
• Wagner 16U Baseball team took home second place at State Baseball.
• Several Wagner Businesses participated in Wagner Crazy Days.
• The Wagner Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for ROCS Community Closet.
• Another South Dakota nursing home closed its doors. The Armour nursing home closes due to a combination of the ongoing underfunding of Medicaid and staffing crisis.
• A new business, permanent Upgrade, comes to town.
APRIL
• Wagner Chamber held their Annual Farm, Home, Garden and Sports show with approximately 40 vendor booths in attendants.
• New chief of police Damon Griffith was recognized at the rotary meeting.
• Wagner Fire Department hosted Sate Fire Fighter 1 and 2 training and certifications where seven Wagner Firefighters graduated.
• Wagner held their 2023 prom night where Nolan Dvorak and Tawi Star Comes Out were crowned King and Queen and Matia Picotte-Golus and Teddy Slaba were crowned Princess and Prince.
SEPTEMBER
• Roger Wiltz, the man behind the Rog's Rod and Nimrod column passed away to brain cancer.
• Wagner Super Foods honored Scott McAdaragh and Kristy Uecker with a celebration of the 40 years of dedication to the community.
• Wagner held their annual Labor day celebration with a great attendance and lots of activities.
• A veteran's mural consisting of ten panels which depicts the conflicts from World War I through Afghanistan was installed.
• Payton Petry and Matia Picotte were crowned WCS 2022 Homecoming King and Queen.
MAY
• Seniors from Wagner High School and many volunteers came out and helped clean up the city for City Wide Cleanup.
• Wagner held their First Annual High School Practice rodeo.
• Derecho Storm destroys parts of Dante.
• Forty Wagner Seniors graduated.
• Main Street Greenhouse opened just in time for Spring.
• Bomgaars hosted an annual ladies' night to support cancer care.
• Charles Mix County 4-Her's Excel at State shoot.
• 15 Wagner Athletes competed at the State Track and Field meet in Sioux Falls.
OCTOBER
• Good Samaritan Society celebrated 100 years of service and dedication to the community.
• Wagner Rotary Club member Kathe Henke was awarded the Rotarian of Distinction award for Area 6 at the District 5610 Rotary Conference held in Sioux City, IA.
• The Wagner Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting for the opening of Wagner's new business Ruthies Dispensary.
• Macy Koupal reaches 2,000 Career Assists.
• The Dig Pink Trophy Stays In Wagner after a win over the Parkston Trojans.
