WRESTLERS WIN IN ALCESTER

Preston Nedved with the pin to take 1st place .

The Raider wrestling team went to Alcester to take on the Beresford-Alcester/Hudson Cubs in dual action. The Raiders came out on top by a score of 37-26. Jhett Breen started out with a pin at 106, followed by another pin by Jagger Tyler at 113, and just for good measure, Lance Soukup pinned his opponent at 120. Riley Roberts squeezed out an 8-5 decision at 126 to take the team score to 21-0 after four matches. Bradyn Lhotak lost at 138 by a score of 6-10 to a very tough opponent. 138 was forfeited by both teams. Bain Kuhlman was declared ineligible due to a skin condition…a cold sore. He was upset, coaches were upset, but at the end of the day, we must respect the health care officials and their calls. Owen Eitemiller lost by technical fall to one of the top-rated wrestlers in class A at 145. Preston Nedved got the Raiders back in the win column with a 10-0 major decision over his opponent at 152. 160 was forfeited to the Cubs by Wagner as Devon Medricky was out due to injury. Nolan Dvorak claimed a forfeit at 170, while the Raiders forfeited 182 to the Cubs again. Tony Bruguier, our normal 182-pounder was out with illness. Both teams forfeited at 195. At 220, KJ St. Pierre earned the fall over Alex Jensen, and the Raiders had to forfeit again at heavyweight. This event was supposed to allow the Raiders to wrestle Mount Vernon/Plankinton/Corsica/Stickney as well, but due to several illnesses and injuries, the Titans were unable to make the trip.
