WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

By
Dana Sanderson

The Wagner senior students are preparing to leave high school in just a few months and move on to their future. Wagner students have received a good education and have had a variety of great opportunities to help them prepare for what comes after graduation. Many of these students may have done a lot of research about training and career options and had some great advice and support from family, teachers and friends in their decision making process. However, some may not. Some students, may still have some big questions about their future.

It is common for students to question themselves about their future, regardless of how much planning and research they may have done. To aid in the planning process, the Wagner Chamber of Commerce and the Yankton Sioux Tribe are teaming up to provide a special program to help inform and encourage students to prepare for life after high school. Training opportunities will be presented along with scholarship opportunities they may not be aware of. The program will include lunch and presentations about a wide variety of opportunities for students to consider, along with information and advice from several local employers. It is hoped that students will also seriously consider returning to the Wagner area to live and work after their post-high training is completed. Employers planning on attending this special program should arrive at noon and are encouraged to sit at a table with senior students so there will be some time to get to know each other a little better. Please take this time to offer the students some good advice and reasons why they should consider returning to make Wagner their home when they are ready for this step in their life. This special lunch and informational program will take place at the Wagner Theater meeting room Wednesday, Nov. 29.
