WELCOME TO 2020 LABOR DAY CELEBRATION
The City of Wagner and Wagner Labor Day Committee welcome you to their 2020 Labor Day Celebration!
This year a few things have changed due to COVID-19 and the city and committee are doing everything they can to keep residents and visitors safe so everyone can enjoy the celebration.
The fun begins on Friday, September 4 with races at Wagner Speedway at 7 p.m. The pit gates will open at 4 p.m.
The Road Race on Saturday, September 5 kicks off at 8 a.m., with registration from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. at 515 Front Avenue (six blocks South of the City Park).
Be sure and check out the Kiddie Parade Saturday morning at 10 a.m.
The Poker Run will start and finish this year on Main Street. Registration is from 10 to 11 a.m. and will finish at 4:00 p.m.
Bring your appetite and come and check out some tasty ribs at the Rib Cookoff on Main Street at 11 a.m. Once you've satisfied your hunger be sure to come and admire some beautiful rides at the annual Show & Shine.
The popular Bean Bag Tourney has also been moved to Main Street and will begin at 5:30 p.m. Registration is from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.
The day concludes with the big Rodeo at the Wagner Rodeo Grounds at 7 p.m. New this year is the Mini Bronc Riding Event.
Sunday morning the Kid's Fishing Tourney begins at 9 a.m. at the Wagner Lake.
The ever popular Figure 8 Race will begin at 12 p.m. at the Wagner Speedway as well as the Veteran's Labor Day Ride which will meet at the Wagner American Legion.
A fun evening is planned on Sunday at 7 p.m., as the Rodeo continues. A new added feature is the "Greased Pig Event".
New this year, the Cancer Walk will be held at 8:30 p.m. at the Wagner Lake with a Lantern Light Up at 8:30 p.m., followed by fireworks provided by Bouza Fireworks.
Labor Day Monday, September 7th the 120th Labor Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. The parade theme this year is "Family Traditions" with this year's parade marshals Wayne Scherr and Mary Jo Kuhlman. John Otte of Dakota Aircare Inc., will start off the parade with a flyover.
The fun weekend will close Monday night at the Wagner Speedway for their Season Championships at 7 p.m. The gates will open at 4 p.m.
