President Pro Tempore Bryan Slaba rang the Wagner Rotary to order on Wednesday, October 16th. Our President is a busy farmer trying to get his crops harvested while it is possible.

A blessing was given by Pastor Laurie Kidd giving thanks for our good fall weather and prayers for those not able to attend today.

Rotarian Dave Isebrand introduced his guest Dana Sanderson. Gerrit introduced his middle daughter Kathleen Juffer. There was no Membership Minute, so Laurie led the singing with her excellent musical ability. The club sang“MyWildIrishRose”followed by everyone’s favorite “Smile”.

Football winners were Carol Kaberna sold by Becky Brunsing and Becky Brunsing sold by Roger Wiltz.

Roger Wiltz’s ticket was drawn from the bucket to give him a chance to win our Queen of Hearts drawing but he drew an 8 of Diamonds.

Sec./Treas. Patty Frei reported that Pastor Bill’s team had perfect attendance to today and Pastor Laurie’s team had 1 absence leaving Bill’s team with only 1 miss and Laurie’s team with 7 misses. There was $12 collected at the meeting bringing the total to $38.00 The club enjoyed the delicious steak meal prepared by the Super Foods in Wagner and paid for by Pastor Bill’s attendance team.

Other business included Rachel Woods announcing the pie contest that is currently being held among Wagner businesses. If a business can raise $250, they will have the person of their choice getting a pie in the face at the WCS Homecoming pep rally to be held on Friday, October 18th. It is also Wagner’s last home football game.

Secretary Patty Frei handed out some guidelines for members to use if they choose to do a meeting makeup on the computer. There are several new members who are not used to this type of makeup and the instructions will come in handy.

Dana Sanderson spoke briefly about a supper that will be held on Halloween night at the Wagner Theatre for adults or children. It will be free and has been a tradition for the last four years. He could use about 10 to 12 people to help prepare and serve the meal. He also asked for donors who would be interested in helping in this endeavor.

A Friendship Exchange of Rotary Members is coming to South Dakota on May 27th to June 5th in 2020. Accommodations and activities were discussed. Several members volunteered to board the exchange members and other details were left to be discussed in the future.

There is no program on Steak Meeting days so therefore there is no picture this week. The club adjourned in their usual fashion by singing “America”.
