President Jerry Weber rang the bell quite lightly to bring Rotarians to order Wednesday, December 19th. Little William Woods is an honorary Rotarian as he comes to club meetings with his Mother Rachel. Members urged the president to be quiet so as not to disturb William’s sleep.

Pastor Laurie Kidd was called upon to offer up a prayer. Laurie gave thanks for the members present as we near the Christmas celebration of the birth of our Savior. We were called upon to extend blessings to all those in our company and beyond.

Rotarian Laurie then led the club in three full verses of Jingle Bells as the President assured her there was time for more singing.

Rotarian Dave Isebrands had a MembershipMinutethatwasquite instructional. Over the past weekend some of the Wagner Rotarians pooled their money and bought a new Smart TV for the club and installed it under the screen which has been used for so many years. This TV will allow us to have power point presentations without always having to borrow a projector and will have full Wi-Fi capability, and all those helpful adaptions that come with a “Smart TV”.

Rotarian Amanda Bechen filled in for missing Rotarian Craig Krsnak. She kept the Christmas Spirit alive by going lightly in the fine department.

Rotarian Patty Frei gave the attendance totals as the deadline for the second quarter is fast approaching. The Henke Team has a total of 25 misses and the Frei Team a total of 31 misses. There was $17.00 collected for the Queen Can bringing the possible winnings to a total of $220.00. Football Book Winners were John and Alicia Cotton sold by Ken Cotton and Abby Brunsing sold by Becky Brunsing. Patty announced that we were going to establish a small winning sum for someone getting the most predictions right. We will be given a total of 5 topics on which to base our predictions and may choose any or all and even add some predictions of our own if we feel so inclined.

Thank You cards were passed around to be signed by the members and a cash gift was assembled to give to our Cooks, Gerri McAdargh and Margaret Mach. These ladies go to a lot of work to prepare a delicious meal each Wednesday at Super Foods, bring it to the Club, carry it in, serve it, set our tables, add decorations for the holidays and clean up after the meeting. The food is very good, and we are very grateful to them for their hard work.

In lieu of a program President Jerry Weber declared our annual business meeting to order. Our By-laws specify that an annual meeting shall be held on the third Wednesday of December in each year. Members were brought up to date on the terms of the present Board of Directors members. There will be an election of a new Board member soon as well as an upcoming President and Vice President of the Club.

Some Rotarians did not have a copy of the By Laws and there will be new copies available at the next meeting. A treasurer’s report was given and discussed. The meeting was adjourned in our usual fashion by singing My Country tis of Thee.

Rotarian Amanda Bechen substituted for Sergeant at Arms Craig Krsnak and levied the following fines:

• Gerrit Juffer was fined $2 for his daughter Jackie Jean being in the social swirl of Washington, DC. Bechen said it was more of a Happy Fine and proceeded to ask for more similar fines.

• Becky Brunsing offered up $2.10 for her oldest daughter turning 21 that day.

• Brenda Jaton $5.00 for her 40th birthday.

• Dana Woods $3.90 for having his birthday the same day as Brenda.

• Gerrit Juffer paid a $2 Happy Fine for the outstanding Parade of Lights that took place in Wagner the past Friday night. He thanked those responsible for organizing it.

• Bechen levied a fine of $4 to Pat Breen as a way of encouraging his attendance.
