WCS VETERAN'S DAY PROGRAM HELD

Wagner Community School held their Veteran's Day Program on Monday, November 11. Lydia Yost gave the welcome, the National Guard presented the colors, Presley Slaba gave the invocation, All State Quartet members Jessica Barnett, Sam Kafka, Cruise Koupal, Jackson Rolston, Presley Slaba, Macee Stimpson, Gavin Tjeerdsma and Lydia Yost sang the 'Star Spangled Banner', Allen Hare sang the 'Dakota Flag/Veterans Song'. All Veterans were recognized with Roll Call/Wall of Honor. The 5th and 6th grade chorus sang 'America the Beautiful'. The 7th and 8th Grade Chorus sung the 'Song for the Unsung Hero'.

A special treat for those in attendance included: 5th Grade 'What Freedom Means to Me' recognition - Deyviawn Sully 6th Grade 'What the Flag Means to Me' presentation - Emeri Freidel with Darcy Kaberna 7th Grade 'Patriot's Pen' Recognition - Peytyn Wiechmann, Camry Link and Hallie Roberts 8th Grade 'Patriot's Pen Recognition - Jaxton Hill, Braelyn Jones, Anna Feucht and Isabelle Myer Following the recognitions, April Hollingsworth, Madison Robertson and Carter Smejkal presented the Folding of the Flag Demonstration. The 'Voice of Democracy' essay writing was read by Ashtyn Bruguier, Hannah Holzbauer and Ravyn Medricky.

The Wagner High School Chorus sung 'God Bless the USA'. Closing remarks and the Pledge of Allegiance was given by Lydia Yost. Double 'Taps' was played by Madison Robertson and Frank Soukup followed by the Retiring of the Colors by the National Guard.
