WCS NEW STAFF SPOTLIGHTRUBYLIN HARRINGTON
Wagner Community School welcomed a new 5th and 6th grade science teacher for the 2023-2024 school year, Rubylin Harrington. Rubylin has been teaching for nine years and has taught all sciences grades 5th through 12th. Harrington previously taught middle school science at Andes Central for the past three years.
Besides getting to know the staff and students, Rubylin has most enjoyed being able to teach at the school where her children attend. Her classroom goals are to create an environment where her students feel safe and can have a fun and positive learning space.
Harrington is a very family-oriented person. Her free time is spent with her husband and children. She is married to Paul Harrington, and they have three children Abigail (4), Annlin (3) and Paul Jr. also known as PJ (1). The family has a pit-bull mix named Pete. Her parents are Dudley Schroeder and Sabrena Seaton and she was raised in Armour.
One thing her students would be surprised to know about her is that she has a twin sister. Rubylin enjoys throwing darts with her husband, Paul, and watching dirt track racing. The Island by Elin Hilderbrand is her favorite book, and her favorite movie is The Devil Wears Prada. She is active in the community volunteering as a member of the Labor Day festival on the park committee. Harrington is also an active member of the Wagner and Avon/Dante Pink Ladies chapters. One item on Rubylin’s bucket list is for her and Paul to visit all 50 states; they only have 8 states left.
