Wagner/Bon Homme Gymnasts traveled to Vermillion Saturday, December 2nd to compete in the Winter Wonderland 10-Team tournament.

Floor: Amelia Rathgeber scored a 6.50, Raelynn Kuhlman scored a 5.45, Mia Dion scored a 7.60, Addison Cuka scored a 7.25, Jasmine Gilbert scored a 6.75, and Alexys Rueb scored an 8.60 and placed 6th. The girls have been working hard to learn new skills on the floor. We will continue to perfect both the tumbling and dance which will improve their scores.

Bars: Amelia Rathgeber scored a 6.50, Dusti Laska scored a 2.60, Addison Cuka scored a 4.20, Jasmine Gilbert scored a 7.40 and placed 8th, and Alexys Rueb scored an 8.25 and placed 4th. Bars remains a very difficult event for our team. We will continue working on varsity level skills and hopefully continue to clean up the existing skills.

Beam: Amelia Rathgeber scored a 6.90, Raelynn Kuhlman scored a 6.05, Mia Dion scored a 6.35, Jasmine Gilbert scored a 7.60, and Alexys Rueb scored a 7.70. It was so exciting watching the girls show all the new skills they have learned on beam. We will continue to raise our beam scores through building their confidence, consistency, and skills.

Vault: Amelia Rathgeber scored a 6.70, Raelynn Kuhlman scored a 6.90, Mia Dion scored a 7.60, Jasmine Gilbert scored an 8.05, and Alexys Rueb scored a 9.15 and won the event. This is an event that requires power. We have been working hard to find the balance between power and grace this year. When they find that confidence to run hard and stay tight, this event will improve greatly.

All Around: Amelia Rathgeber scored a 24.20, Jasmine Gilbert scored a 29.80, and Alexys Rueb scored a 33.60 and placed 5th.

A Note from the Coach:

The Wagner Bon Homme has gone through many changes this season. We have welcomed a new assistant coach Britney Schroeder! Which was a blessing in disguise. She is positive, calm, and has a new gymnastics eye, she has been a powerful, much needed presence in the gym. We added 8 new gymnasts to our roster with a couple even making the varsity team, new rules clarifications and annual meets lost, and new meets gained. One of our very own creative gymnasts made up many of the girls’ routines this year. With all these changes these girls continue to push themselves out of their comfort zone to learn new skills and make new connections! We KNOW this group will continue to surprise us all season long! Keep working towards your individual goas and team goal ladies!! You are as strong as your dream and the effort you put forth! Let’s have a great season!
