WBH GYMNASTS HEADED TO STATE

Wagner- Bon Homme Gymnasts placed second at the Region meet last week. They are headed to the state meet on February 7-9th. It is great to see how the girls controlled their nerves and did well. Each gymnast earned her spot to compete for individual day on all the events they competed in! We are so proud of every girl! They earned their season best team score of 132.225! Now we cannot let up! We have got to use these next few days in the gym very productively so that we can bring home some hardware! They will need to show power, grace and amplitude in all they do. Being precise in their movements and exuding confidence will help them raise their scores! Go get em’ girls!!

Vault: On vault Maggie Barnett placed 15th, Jenna Duffek placed 7th, Alcista Dion placed 9th and Emily Duffek is the Region 2A vault champion! All these girls, including Joanna Soukup will be competing vault at the state meet for individual day! To earn a medal on this event at state each girl will need to be powerful, tight and hold their body shapes!

Floor: On floor Jenna Duffek placed 7th, Alcista Dion placed 12th, Alexys Rueb placed 6th, Joanna Soukup placed 10th and Emily Duffek is the Region 2A champion! All these girls including Maggie Barnett earned a spot to compete floor for individual day! Go out there and have fun girls, dance with poise, fly high and stick your landings. You will do great!

Beam: On beam Jenna Duffek placed 10th, Alexys Rueb and Joanna Soukup tied for 7th place and Emily Duffek placed 5th. All these girls including Mahto Raymond and Alcista Dion earned a spot to compete beam on individual day! The girls stayed on the beam better tonight. To medal on this event they will need to stay on the beam without wobbling and show amplitude and beauty as well. You got this girls!!

Bars: On bars Alcista Dion placed 12th, Jenna Duffek placed 11th, Alexys Rueb placed 10th and Emily Duffek placed 6th. All these girls including Joanna Soukup, earned a spot to compete bars on individual day! The girls really cleaned up their routines for tonight! They were tighter and smoother in their routines. They showed confidence and more amplitude as well! To medal on bars the girls will need to keep tight, fly high, and keep the routine moving smoothly! Believe in yourself girls and beautifully aggressive in your routines.

ALL AROUND: Jenna Duffek scored a 32.225 to earn a spot as an all-around competitor individual day. Alexys Rueb earned a 32.75 which earned her a spot as an all-around contender as well. Emily Duffek earned a 34.975. She had already pre-qualified during the regular season for the all-around competition on individual day. Emily Duffek placed second with her all-around score. Joanna Soukup also earned the opportunity to compete on all 4 events on individual day. Reach for the stars girls! Be confident; be graceful; be tight; and fly high!! YOU GOT THIS!!!
